The report looks at regional trends related to population ageing and offers analysis on where countries stand in relation to the Madrid International Action Plan on Ageing (2002). Prepared to inform discussions on the 2017 Global Symposium on ageing, the report looks into policies and legislation, advancing health and well-being into old-age, older persons and development and the availability of data. It offers recommendations to governments, UN agencies, civil society organisations and the private sector. The report was prepared by HelpAge International, Ann Pawliczko and UNFPA.
