Applications are now open for the UNFPA Young Creators Lab
Young people across Asia and the Pacific increasingly turn to social media, short-form video and the creators they follow for information about their bodies, relationships, health, gender and rights. This brings around-the-clock access to information, but it also brings misinformation about sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), gender bias, deepfakes, harmful content and technology-facilitated gender-based violence.
The UNFPA Young Creators Lab equips young creators and youth-led entities from across the Asia and the Pacific region to create reliable, rights-based comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) and life skills content for the platforms young people actually use.
The Lab runs as a fully online programme from August to October 2026, with nine live sessions on Tuesdays at 11:00 Bangkok time. Participants gain practical skills and knowledge across eight pillars:
- Digital comprehensive sexuality education content production
- Messaging for gender equality and positive masculinity
- AI fluency for creators
- Critical assessment of misinformation
- Technology-facilitated gender-based violence prevention and safety by design
- Universal design principles for the digital era
- Audience growth and the algorithm
- Online voice, advocacy and amplification
Each session ends with a quiz to reinforce what was learned. Participants who attend, pass all quizzes, complete sprints and follow community norms graduate with the UNFPA Young Creators Lab Completion Certificate. Participants are also encouraged to opt into a capstone project: a piece of comprehensive sexuality education content, a campaign, a multi-creator drop or an amplification toolkit, produced with mentor support that will be featured on Premiere Day.
Who should apply
Applicants should be aged 18 to 29, based in a country covered by UNFPA in Asia and the Pacific, actively creating digital content or representing a youth-led entity producing content for young audiences. Existing follower count is not a selection criterion. Micro and emerging creators are welcome.
Priority is given to applicants with content interest in comprehensive sexuality education, sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender, healthy relationships or related areas, while also ensuring a balanced cohort across Asia and the Pacific in terms of geography, gender, disability and inclusion. The selection also seeks to include young men engaged in positive masculinity and individuals who show a strong commitment to producing ethical, safe and accurate content.
